The Elders and Pastor are delighted to announce that Emma Prudom has accepted the position of Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Wyoming Baptist Church. Emma applied right as the position was posted, and having witnessed her journey at WBC—from her arrival to her baptism—it is a joy to now see her step into this new role and continue growing with our church family.
From the beginning, it was clear Emma was an exceptional candidate. She brings over ten years of experience as an early childhood educator, including her work at the EarlyON Centre at Lambton College. During that time, she completed both diploma and degree studies in Early Childhood Education, as well as a graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science. Her experience spans schools and another local church, and she holds several awards and scholarships recognizing her creativity and commitment to children.
Emma describes herself as a pedagogist—someone who journeys with children and adults to challenge traditional educational models and discover new, relational approaches. This aligns beautifully with our vision of growing children in faith. Her interview reflected her ability to create fun, meaningful learning experiences and to inspire others to join her in that work. Emma also expressed a desire to continue both professional and theological development, something we are excited to support as part of her role. Her references affirmed everything we sensed: she is a gifted, faithful, and inspiring leader, and we believe her presence among us is part of Christ’s plan to grow His Church.
Emma will officially begin on August 1st, 2025. As she steps into this position, the ministry to children and families will be under her direct guidance and supervision, with ongoing collaboration with the Pastor as we continue building a strong ministry team. We are excited for the energy, vision, and compassion Emma brings. She already sees great potential in our church community and we know you will join us in welcoming and supporting her in this God-given work.
Emma has also shared a short message as she begins this new chapter:
Several months ago, I sensed that God was leading me to consider a new vocational path. I began to pray about this and was excitedly amazed when I became aware of the Children’s Ministry Coordinator position at WBC. As I continued to seek God, I experienced His peace and encouragement to move forward in applying for the position. Throughout the application process and waiting period, I have seen how God has prepared my heart and mind for this new adventure which enables me to weave together my identity in Christ with my passion of serving children and families. During this time, I feel that I have also grown in my ability to trust God and rely on His provision.
I am excited about the opportunity to come alongside children and families as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and also be part of reflecting Christ to those who do not yet know Him as Lord and Saviour. I look forward to partnering with the Pastor, Elders, and people of WBC to explore new possibilities as to how we can continue to reflect the love of Jesus in our community. I am both honoured and humbled that God has called me to serve Him in this capacity and it is my desire to glorify God with the strengths that He has entrusted to me!
